Sketchy Holidaze
The first of the sketches from Thursday's session are in, some great portraits from Christopher Batten.
And here's some typically sweet sketches from Jim Anderson.
You can see some photos on the Scarab Club's Facebook page, too.
Some news from our models: Don't forget to mark your calenders to see the Dizzy Dames perform at Cliff Bell's on January 24. Check out this interview with the Dames on the Motor City Rocks blog.

Happy Holidays everyone!
A quick note to say THANKS to everyone who came out to the Scarab Club last night for the year-end Dr. Sketchy session. It was a pretty damned good one, if I say so myself! Thanks again to Os Clavlitos for playing and of course many many thanks to the fantastic Rokzi and Lushes for modeling and performing. More info to come on their upcoming show with Dizzy Dames, and more photos and drawings from last night as they start rolling in.
For now I wanted to post a link to the publisher I mentioned last night, Baby Tattoo Books. Seriously, anyone who's into Dr. Sketchy will find something they'll like from these guys, take a look.

It's A Very Sketchy Christmas, Art Monkeys!
Hey all, just a reminder that we'll be getting together one last time in '09, THURSDAY, DEC. 17, 7-10PM, and a great time it looks to be, too.
We'll gather at the amazing, historic Scarab Club again (same place as in August for the anniversary session) to coincide with their cocktail night. We'll have two wonderful models from the Dizzy Dames burlesque troupe, both of whom will perform during the evening - PLUS: Live music from Latin jazz group Os Clavelitos - a Detroit Dr. Sketchy first! Speaking of cocktails, bartender Steve Ellis promises a re-invented version of the Dr. Sketchy martini will debut tomorrow as well.
Of course there's a neato prize package to be raffled off, some sweet goodies to share, and a cool crowd of art monkeys to hobnob with, all for a measly $5! How better to end the year? Don't miss it!
Also, speaking of the Scarab Club, check out this video by the guys at Motor City Blog from August's anniversary session! (I won't be offended if you fast-forward past me to see Lily LaRue's fan dance...)
